MiCBT Veteran's Pilot Program

Evidence-Based Care.  Veteran-Led Strength.  Stronger Together.

A 10-Week Mindfulness-Based Program for Canadian Armed Forces Veterans

This pilot program combines evidence-based clinical care with veteran peer support to strengthen recovery, build resilience, and create sustainable support for the veteran community.

Why This Program?

Military service places unique psychological demands on those who serve. This pilot program provides veterans with practical, evidence-based skills for managing stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, and the challenges of transitioning beyond military service.

Participants will also contribute to developing a sustainable veteran peer-support model that can strengthen care for future veterans.

Meet Your Facilitator

Dr. Alia W. Offman, C.Psych

Dr. Alia W. Offman, C.Psych. is a Registered Psychologist and Co-Director of the North American Chapter of the MiCBT Institute. She specializes in Mindfulness-Integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT) and evidence-based treatment for trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation, and resilience. Through this pilot program, participants will learn practical skills that support lasting recovery while contributing to the development of a sustainable veteran peer-support model.

Why This Pilot Is Different

This program is more than a clinical intervention. Participants who successfully complete the pilot may be invited to become members of the first Veteran MiCBT Peer Support Cohort. By completing the program before supporting others, peer supporters develop both lived experience and a practical understanding of the MiCBT model.

Is This Program Right for Me?

The pilot is intended for Canadian Armed Forces veterans who are 18 years of age or older, are experiencing stress, anxiety, or PTSD symptoms, and are interested in personal growth and supporting other veterans. Participants need to be available for the full 10-week program and willing to attend and participate actively.

Participants Can Expect

Participants can expect a structured and supportive group of fellow veterans, practical tools that can be used in everyday life, mindfulness and CBT skills taught and practised during sessions, opportunities for reflection, growth, and meaningful connection, and two full-day retreats designed to deepen learning and integration. Participants will also have an opportunity to contribute to the development of a sustainable veteran peer-support model.
